This opinion piece by a Washington, D.C. parent and social worker discusses something I’ve been quite troubled by– the large and ever-increasing amount of time and energy spent on standardized testing. I won’t start a full discussion on Data and assessment just yet (It’s my vacation!), but the amount of time American schools spend on tests versus actual instruction is hugely problematic.
